Okay I know this isn't quite what you were expecting, but I'm curious to know opinions on this.

I'm watching some TV magazine crap on MSNBC about the law, rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment, etc. So this one story, this woman gets asked by a man at a car wash if she needed help. She said no, and then a minute later the man is standing naked in tennis shoes next to her car, asking her if she needed "help" again. So obviously is creepy/disturbing, but IMO the girl totally overreacted, became really dramatic about the whole thing and is now demanding he gets locked up and etc. Maybe it was just some lonely guy goofing around? What if it was an attractive man and not some redneck? Why is it that everytime a man jokes around about sex its automatically "sexist" or inappropriate, etc. Why do people assume people with somewhat "deviant" or strange sexual behavior have mental problems and are even dangerous?? Can't we have an open society where people aren't afraid of their own sexuality?

Also, I'm amazed at how dramatized MSNBC has made the whole thing, its incredibly distasteful and such a skewered, anti-intellectual perspective that I'm turning this shit off right now.

So if this same thing happened, but instead it happened to you instead of a woman, would you still be asking the same questions? There is a time and a place for sexually oriented jokes, humor, etc. but to take your clothes off in public and offer to "help" someone is way beyond any socially acceptable norm. If he knew her it MIGHT be less intrusive, but if he was a total stranger to her, then there is definately something not right about him and he needs to be looked at. What if he did this with the woman and she had a 5 year old girl in the car? Then what, still an okay joke?

I don't have any links to support this and I don't have time to track them down, but I've read where the activities of flashers, voyeurs, and that ilk can develop into more serious sex crimes - like rape.
