'the 9/11 terrorists hated the united states because of our freedom. they're jealous of the way we live and want to destroy us.'

I've heard thousands of people say this. It's not that uncommon.

the dumbest thing (besides anything that's come out of Chuck Shumer's mouth) I've ever heard was that moral issues decided the 2004 election.

Funny quote today:

paraphrasing:

"Every time we kill someone from Al-Queida, they are replaced. Number 2 becomes number 1. Number 10 becomes number 9. Number 50 becomes Howard Dean"

Bush used to say this a lot in the aftermath of 9/11. He even used it in the run up to the Iraq invasion.

"freedom fries"

and here is an oh so lucid quote from the commander-in-chief:

when asked if the tide was turning in Iraq:

"I think--tide turning--see, as I remember, I was raised in the desert, but tides kind of, it's easy to see a tide turn--did I say those words?"

yikes. his inability to speak coherently continues to surprise and firghten me.

That's actually a little funny. A conservative said that?
