Aren't you basically doing the same thing with Clinton what republicans are doing with Bush? meaning putting him on a pedestal no matter what he does wrong. (Besides the fact that you think everything Bush does is wrong)

Brilliance might be hyperbole, sure. But you can't deny that Clinton seems to be taking steps to follow through on that old axiom that its often possible to get more accomplished outside of gov't than when working within the constraints of the system.

British billionaire Richard Branson on Thursday said he would donate $3 billion US over 10 years to anti-global warming initiatives.
The founder of Virgin pledged all profits from his transport businesses to environmental efforts.
"We are very pleased today to be making a commitment to invest 100 per cent of all future proceeds to the Virgin Group from our transportation interest, both our trains and airline businesses, into tackling global warming," Branson told a news conference in New York.
The announcement came at the Clinton Global Initiative, a conference being hosted by former U.S. president Bill Clinton.
The Clinton Global Initiative is a project of Clinton's charitable foundation, aimed at bringing together world leaders in a variety of fields to solve what they view as the world's most pressing problems.

Ya. Creating a better environment is such a waste of money.
Even if global warming trends continue, the spin-offs and effects of doing something about it is only positive:
1. Cutting GHG emissions: cutting GHG emissions usually is part of a wider effort to cut industrial pollution... therefore, cleaner air, water, soil = better health.
2. increasing use of renewables: decreases use of energy from the fuckheads in Iran and Saudi. Creates jobs. cleaner environment.
3. hybrid cars: just for the fact that it is fucking cool that they are silent when stopped is enough

I think it is noble, but I do not believe that it is actually going to change anything. Plus it does not change the fact that he owns an airline as well as ambitions of space travel that burn plenty of pollutants. But if it makes him feel cozy at night donating money, that is fine by me.
