LOS ANGELES (Dec. 14) - Retiring U.S. Sen. Zell Miller, the conservative Georgia Democrat who backed President Bush's re-election, is joining Fox News Channel as a contributor.
Miller, who made a memorable TV appearance when he challenged MSNBC host Chris Matthews to a duel, will be seen on a variety of Fox News programs starting Jan. 6, a Fox spokesman said Tuesday.
"I am excited to be joining Fox News Channel and am eager to contribute to the continuing success of the network," Miller said in a network release.
In a raucous interview last fall on "Hardball with Chris Matthews," Miller, 72, angrily told Matthews, "I wish we lived in the day where you could challenge a person to a duel."
He made the comment when Matthews pressed him on barbs Miller launched during his convention speech against Democratic presidential contender Sen. John F. Kerry.
Miller, a two-term governor of Georgia, was appointed to the Senate in 2000. He's taught history and political science at schools including the University of Georgia.
In November, GOP Rep. Johnny Isakson won an election to succeed Miller.

big fan of Zell good news!
Are you actually serious? That man is a fucking moron and a crazy old lunatic. Tell me you're joking.
Remember, it's not funny until you go too far...
He IS whacked, but he's entertaining....I'll tune in once in a while to see what he has to say

I've been so much happier since i blocked off Fox News from my TV. Now when i flip through the channels i dont even have to pass by the dreaded #48. Just ...47..49..50...
For those screaming fair and balanced, it's safe to say he will not be reading the news.
Punditry anyone?
And another newsflash, Foxnews isn't going to change it's tag line and format because you guys hate it so much. Matter of fact, if this country was predominantly liberal, Foxnews would probably swing that way. It's called "ratings". Everyone in media is a whore for it. Get used to it.
Have ya watched CNN???
I get my news at yahoo.com. Then, Sunday mornings I watch Russer's MTP. From there, I make my own assumptions. Sometimes I'll catch Dennis Miller, but it's usually only for him making fun of shit in the opening. He's grown more caustic than fun for me.
I hate CNN and I fucking hate Fox. I hate CNN because their news is about as a hard as Elton John surrounded by Victoria's Secret models. I hate FOx because of this Scott Peterson shit. Who gives a fuck?
He really isn't. He's the Republicans' answer to Howard Dean. Deal with it. I don't think Dean's a nutjob, just awkwardly outspoken. Miller's approach in his writing comes off as more centrist because he doesn't sound like an old curmudgeon. However, in person, at the podium, it's like he's auditioning for the role of "Crazy Old Man" in the next Adam Sandler movie. In person, and I've met him, he comes off as oddly warm and funny. I have mixed feelings. But he's no nutjob.

I can see that, and because you met him and I don't believe anyone else on here has, you have a valid point.
I'll take your word for it CW.
