Maybe we got it all wrong. Maybe Fred Phelps is just a big time anti-smoker. They call cigarettes "fags" in merry old England. Of course, in thinking this, my head is probably way up my ass (which would be autosexual, I guess...thank God it says nothing in the Bible about that). What's all this then?

can you even fucking imagine them showing up at the amish funerals? how awful and evil and wrong is that? and i thought that protesting at soldiers funerals was the worst thing they could do.

What I would do is get you and your friends and family and serve as a shield between his group and the funeral that is going on. That way, maybe a few of the mourners won't hear or see this group of savages.
