Private companies can choose to market their products however they see fit. If using the word "Christmas" is finacially adventageous, they should do so.

Dear People Who Are Offended By "Merry Christmas,"
STFU. You're stupid.
Thanks,

just don't assume people celebrate it.
Did I make that assumption? I was speaking purely of its marketing value to Wal-Mart. They would market satanism if it meant that their sales would increase, and that would be the right call on their part. The fact that it is Christmas is irrelevant, unless you are looking for an argument that is not there. At least, not from me.

Is this a PC thing? Forgive me but why don't they use the word 'christmas' at christmas time?
That's the kind of wierd duality I love about the US. You can't use the word 'Christmas' for fear of offending someone, but you sure as hell can bomb seven shades of shit out of them instead.

Anybody offended by the phrase Merry Christmas really needs to lighten up. If someone saying "have a blessed day" offends you, you should probably lighten up.
If someone is offering you best wishes of any kind, you should take that as a good thing.
