Private companies can choose to market their products however they see fit. If using the word "Christmas" is finacially adventageous, they should do so.

Did I make that assumption? I was speaking purely of its marketing value to Wal-Mart. They would market satanism if it meant that their sales would increase, and that would be the right call on their part. The fact that it is Christmas is irrelevant, unless you are looking for an argument that is not there. At least, not from me.

Anybody offended by the phrase Merry Christmas really needs to lighten up. If someone saying "have a blessed day" offends you, you should probably lighten up.

If someone is offering you best wishes of any kind, you should take that as a good thing.
