It's not the same. "Agnostics" is not the title of the best selling book in the history of the world, which has been used for thousands of years to justify all sorts of things.

Well I think we deserve a 20 page thread for our history of not pretending like we know what we are talking about, and being smart enough to not only not force our indecisive views on others, but to also realize it is ridiculous to straight up believe or not believe in things based on limited information. :)

I bet Jesus is happy that the bible has been such a big seller. I wonder what % he gets from the royalties?

I'll need evidence of this thread reaching 20 pages before I believe in it.

What do Agnostics believe? I'm totally in the dark on this.

They don't really know what they believe. They have yet to make a decision because they don't feel they have enough information to do so.

The thing about most agnostics, though, is that they aren't trying to gather any more information, either. They have pretty much decided not to decide. That has been my experience anyway.

Yeah, I know people like this. They're fine right where they are, eagerly pointing the finger at either side, proudly proclaiming "we don't know, and netiher do you." Of course, they're probably right, but through no effort of their own. In a word, lazy.

Yep. They are right, in a sense. Anyone proclaiming to know the truth with 100% certainty is full of shit. But what does anyone know with 100% certainty? Not much. It's not about being 100% certain.

I'm all for people admitting that they are still trying to figure things out. But you can't really say that if you aren't even TRYING to figure things out. Agnosticism seems really weird to me because it's proclaiming indecision as actually being something. It's not.

If you choose not decide, you still have made a choice!

It shows a lack of curiousity... well so does religion, but this is on a whole other level. Religion claims to know for certain the nature of the universe, whereas agnostics don't even really think about it or care.

Quoting Rush songs does not change anything!! Agnostics probably have a high percantage of mullets because they can't decide whether they want their hair long or short.

They might have mullets because they're Canadians who listen to Rush.

Damn, I was hoping no one else would pick up on the Rush reference so I could have posted a picture of them in this thread. :(

There's always room in a thread for that super-gay picture from the liner notes of 2112.
