You people sure are quick to judge and denounce people. You don't know what it is like to be a soldier over there. Kids chase humvees all the time. And we drink water in humvees all the time. If I am drinking a bottle of water in the back of a humvee and a bunch of kids start chasing the truck, am I bad for not giving them water?

This shit happens all the time, and the kids are constantly asking for shit. You go on a foot patrol and kids literally swamp you asking for shit like a pen, a soda, a biscuit, water. It's ridiculous.

It pisses me off that you people think these guys are so evil for this. They are probably pissed and bored out of their damn minds, being in iraq and having to go on a monotonous and dangerous patrol, the same patrol they have probably done a hundred times already. You expect them to sit in the back of the humvee and stare at nothing the whole way? Don't forget the kids don't know english so it's not like they can understand the taunts.

Don't fucking judge people when you haven't been over there, most of you would do the same damn thing. I would have if I had thought of it and thought it might bring a laugh to me or my buddies, lighten the mood a bit, and I am secure enough with my morality to know that doesn't make me a bad person.

I didn't have the sound on when I watched that, so it was basically like I was an Iraqi kids who doesn't speak English, right? That dude was DANGLING that bottle out teh back of the car. He was intentionally teasing them. With WATER.

I can't even imagine what it must be like to be ABLE to be teased with water, of all fucking things. It wasn't a chocolate bar, or a pen, or something cool like that. It was WATER, the most basic necessity of life, and teasing kids with it made a dozen of them chase a car for blocks.

If that's what the soldiers have to do to amuse themselves on those "boring patrols", then maybe someone ought to teach them how to play Russian Roulette.

Thanks for posting that punkdavid, because it reminded me of the first point I wanted to make. There is plenty of water over there. Those kids aren't dying of thirst, and neither were the kids in Afghanistan. I know none of you have ever teased a kid, and if you had you probably should have just shot yourself in the head or played russian roulette instead.

I don't tease kids, not since I've been old enough to join the army anyway. And I've never seen a kid in as desperate a situation as those kids are there. I'll be goddamned before I would ever tease a kid who owns one shitty ripped t-shirt and shits in an open sewer out front of his "home". But I'm glad that the soldiers in this film are such upright and moral human beings that they lose all sense of decency by being in a god forsaken country against their will (but I thought we had an all-volunteer force).
