Everyone over there is nice and awake, right? It doesn't sound like this has the potential to be that much of a problem, but I could be eating my words in a few hours.

CNN and MSN are now saying 8.4 and 3.3 meter tsunami. I'm going to bed. Hopefully, this ends up better than my last thread about natural disasters in N&D.

heh, kinda wierd that the report says NO warning is in effect, but they list times, and color the whole coast orange on the website. Those crazy NOAAers.

The Alaska situation has officially been upgraded to a warning, it seems. There's too much flow to disrupt it past there. There was an 8.3 in nearly the same place a few years ago that hardly didn't do a thing.
Surf's up in San Diego. Get yer boards and quit bitchin' about the cold weather.
my old hometown of Adak, Alaska reported a 39 cm wave
How does this compare vs. normal surf? If this hit further south and in the summer with the same intensity would there be riders? I've always pondered this.
