ORLANDO - (AP) -- A man kidnapped his wife, raped and tortured her and then hung her from a tree to film a two-hour bondage porn video, authorities said Tuesday.
The 30-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault and battery, sexual battery, kidnapping and false imprisonment. He was being held in the Brevard County Jail Tuesday on a $3 million bond.
''I don't know how to even explain it,'' said Brevard County sheriff's Deputy Marlon Buggs. ``The attack may not have caused a death or serious injury, but the victim will be mentally scarred.''
The Associated Press does not identify victims of sexual assault. The man was not identified in an effort to safeguard his wife's identity.
The couple went on a canoe trip down a canal in Brevard County Saturday and pulled ashore near some trees. The man began raping the woman and then got a video camera to tape the act, Buggs said.
He tied her to a nearby tree, where she hung naked for several hours, her toes grazing the ground, Buggs said.
A computer printout describing the crime in detail was found at the scene, Buggs said.
''It looked as though the suspect was following in real life what was depicted on the printout,'' Buggs said.
If convicted, the man faces a life sentence, Buggs said.
He will appear in court Feb. 9. His attorney's name was not immediately known.

Good idea-We’ve (the state of Florida) done a wonderful job exhibiting abject human behavior.
Now, I can't wait until someone calls me stupid again for calling out Florida as if I don't live in the state or lack empirical evidence of Florida's stupidity.

Robbie Wilson of Pensacola, Florida, was working in his yard when he first heard the muffled whimpers. A day later, on Sunday, Wilson was in his yard again when he happened to glance over his neighbour's fence. What he saw was astonishing.
Poking out of a very small hole in the ground he clearly saw a dog's nose.
Once they had freed it from the earth, it walked around and then collapsed. The dog is being treated at an animal hospital for dehydration.
"The dog was in the ground," Vanderpool said. "It had dirt all over it. I don't know how it got there. It seems like every few minutes he stretched his neck up and could get his nose through the (small) hole."
The Escambia County Sheriff's Office reported that the situation is being treated as an animal cruelty case and an investigation is ongoing. Sgt. Mike Ward said no charges have been laid and declined to comment regarding the owner of the property where the dog was found.
Bruce Rova, director of the Escambia County Animal Regulation and Control, said that miraculously, the dog is expected to make a full recovery.
"It's pretty severe. I'd compare it to the worse case I've ever seen," he said. "it looks like it's going to make it. That is what I am so happy about."

I just want to point out these incidents have taken place in central and southern Florida. My neck of the woods is still fairly normal and exhibiting regular human activity. If this shit starts creeping up into northern Florida, well…

It's those people east of you guys with the Jean shorts and the wife beaters that cause most of the issues Those people with 3 teeth that tend to root for that orange and blue team.
well, them and then Miami, Miami is it's own problem.
To be fair Germany has as many odd stories as Florida.

A duck and its tale of survival are making headlines in the US state of Florida this morning.
A hunter shot the duck and put it in his refrigerator thinking it was dead.
Wildlife rescue worker Noni Beck says the fridge door was opened two days later and the duck was found to be still alive.
"Actually she [the hunter's wife] said her mum had opened the refrigerator and the duck just lifted her head and I'm sure she kind of freaked," Ms Beck said.
Vets say the duck's low metabolism rate helped it survive its time in the refrigerator.
It is now being cared for at an animal sanctuary where vets have rated it a 75 per cent chance of survival.

ZEPHYRHILLS - (AP) -- A 68-year-old sky diver apparently suffered a heart attack or stroke during a weekend jump and was dead when he reached the ground, authorities said.
Johnny Gates of Lakeland made no effort to deploy his primary parachute as he fell to the ground Saturday, authorities said. His reserve parachute opened as designed at 800 feet but Gates was dead when he touched down.
T.K. Hayes, manager of Skydive City in Zephyrhills, said video shows Gates apparently twitching as he fell.
''It was an out-of-the-ordinary movement,'' Hayes said. An autopsy will be performed to determine what killed Gates.
Gates was a fixture at the airport who made more than 1,000 jumps in 25 years of sky diving, Hayes said.

It must have been a hell of a landing.

DELRAY BEACH - (AP) -- A partially mummified baby was found inside a suitcase at a warehouse storage unit, police said.
The remains, found Monday night, were wrapped in 1950s era newspapers inside two suitcases at the self storage center. The medical examiner's office declared the remains human and took them for further inspection.
The storage unit had been rented by a couple in 1996, but the man died several years ago and the woman died in the past year, said Delray Beach police spokesman Officer Jeff Messer.
The baby was found by the couple's daughter, who flew down from New Jersey after receiving a letter stating that the contents of the storage unit would be auctioned off because the rent had not been paid for a while, police said.
The identities of the couple and their daughter have not been released.
