It's long, but worth the read. This kid got oral sex from a 10th grader (15 years old) when he was 17. In Georgia, that constitutes sexual molestation and carries a 10-year sentence. Both were minors, the sex was consensual. Everyone in the case admits he shouldn't be in jail, even the prosecutor, but no one will do anything about it. When the jury found him guilty, they apparently had no idea the charge carried a 10-year sentence and went nuts when they found out.
The state changed the law recently, but didn't apply it retroactively, so the guy is in jail based on a law that no longer exists. A schoolteacher in that county was recently convicted of having sex with one of her students and got 90 days. 90 days.
