While at an economic forum in Switzerland, US Senator John Kerry engaged in yet another verbal Anti-American diatribe. While the consequence has faded since his announcement that he will not seek the DNC nomination for President in 2008, his callous remarks make the entire country look bad.

I don't see anything wrong with what he said. What is wrong with criticising America?

There's an un-written rule amongst the members of this government, and it basically dictates that you don't trash American foreign policy while overseas. If you have something to say, then you say it on U.S. soil. You just don't do it because Kerry puts himself up as some sort of spokesperson for the United States. That's the Secretary of State's job, not his. Let him rant and rave in the halls of Congress or on Countdown with Olbermann....if he's got something to say and he's in another country then he needs to bite his fucking tongue and shut up. And this goes for anyone in a position such as his...Democrat, Republican or Independent.

It is beyond pathetic that right-wing media chooses to make this news. Beyond pathetic.

I've never heard of this rule.
Maybe it's just because nobody outside of America has any interest in hearing what Newt Gingrich or anyone else on the right has to say.

so you're against freedom of speech?
No, but Senator Kerry should not act like a spokesperson and trash America overseas. Many may not realize it, but it's an unspoken rule amongst those in government....you don't talk "out of school" like that.

What does "like that" mean? he voiced his opinion is all. I really don't see the big deal.
