13, though i didn't know how to answer a couple of the questions since they were specifically related to American issues and have no impact on me whatsoever. I tries as best i could to equate most of the questions to a Canadian equivalent.

I also have no idea who Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders is :?

Also - I thought Bob Dole would be a bit more right wing than Reagan?

This quiz has been around for a long time, and I have taken it many times and complained almost every time.

Quote:
2. Which do you trust more:

The Pentagon or
The U.S. Postal Service?

The executive branch or
The legislative branch?

The FBI or
The IRS?

The CIA or
The Peace Corps?

The Joint Chiefs or
The United Nations?

I don't know if I trust any of those institutions.

Quote:
6. Which would do more to guarantee competitive elections?

Term limits
Public Financing

10. Which would curb violent crime most?

Stricter controls on the sale of guns
Mandatory sentences for those who use guns in the commission of a crime
Both

11. In the long run, do you think we can reduce crime more by building more prisons or providing more financial assistance to rebuilding our inner cities?

Build prisons
Rebuild cities
Both

I don't really like any of the options on these questions as well.

Quote:
19. Deceptive political campaign commercials should be banned.

Agree Disagree

I think both the left and right like to use these--I wonder where they ranked this question?

Anyway, I scored a 25.

Totally agree. The quiz was probably put together by an undergraduate political science student.

As you might imagine, I tend to like the two-dimensional quizzes better, like this one:

http://www.politicalcompass.org/

A long time ago, I had also dreamed of creating a three-dimensional quiz, with local vs. global policies on the third axis. This inspiration came as Bush was leading the GOP far away from the small gov't roots that they prided themselves on, but I never got the passion to continue.

I scored 19. No idea how that works, but I can't complain.

I went crazy on question 5, I liked that one (probably why I scored so high). And question 11 was awful, all answers were bad.
