The Presidential thread made me think about this, and we could always use a little levity in the N&D forum. This'll probably fall flat, but you always take that chance when you post after 11pm.

I'm pretty sure Obama could crush kittens and still be loved by America, but what if ...

... he reveals that he fantasizes about Hilary Clinton?

Next idea, go!

That's a pretty optimistic view. Good luck with that

He hasn't beat out John Edwards for my vote yet, but you have to admit, when the Daily Show does an "Obamamania" bit, it's almost so true that it doesn't qualify as satire.

I like them both, but I believe I'm going to stick with Edwards. He's the only one with real plans right now. In the long run, though, I would be happy with either one getting the nomination.

Yeah, I give Edwards a slight advantage for being a hometown boy, but I don't like his stance of gay marriage. I don't know if Obama's is any different. Anyhow, I see little reason to commit myself to anyone this early.

His gay marriage stance is the only thing that bothers me, but I'm not sure if there really is a Democrat or Republican running that is going to have have the balls to be completely for it.

i caught a bit of Obama on Larry King last night and about gay marriage he said something along the lines of: "homosexuals don't commit any other, or more immoral acts than heterosexuals do" something like that. i liked that line.

I think one of the greatest challenges Obama faces is maintaining the level of enthusiasm for the next 20 months or so until the actual election. Right now he seems to be riding high on his perceived "electability" as opposed to any really clearly defined vision. At this point, Biden actually looks to be the most qualified candidate, but he hasn't generated the early buzz of Hil & Obama. Anyone care to denigrate Biden to make me re-think my impression of him?

Like Chris Rock said, "People will say they're going to vote for him (a black man) because it's the right thing to say, but when ballot time comes, hah." Or something to that effect.

- Because he (knowingly or unknowingly) invested in a firm that directly benefited from legislation on which he voted? Oh wait, this happened.

- Because he was involved in a land deal in Chicago where his neighbor sold him a $600,000 property for peanuts? Oh wait, this also happened.

- Sigh, because he's not white?

Regarding B's original question, Don't most polls show Hillary with the lead at this point? It's not by a lot, but I'm pretty sure most polls show her as the early favorite.

And seriously, regarding Biden, who only shows like 1% of the early vote; why isn't this guy a good choice? Is his "Barack is clean" comment just completly knocked him to the also rans?
