The expert on the news this morning said that things working against Miami are bad public transportation, large mix of cultures, and the heat. Apparently, Miami has a lot of people who grew up in cultures where Stop signs are treated like "Yield" and there is no speed limit.

i'm not sure how the heat contributes to the bad traffic around here. Bad public transportation for sure, mix of cultures, yeah maybe. Worst ones i encounter are cellphone users swinging all over 3 lanes and old people blocking everyone.

it truly is an exercise to make it to work everyday alive and well.

The survey isn't "Worst Traffic." It's "Worst Road Rage."

I commute in Phoenix on a good highway that moves even during rush hour, but I can see how people driving the 10 the downtown might lose their shit.

Then again, I'm used to New York and Chicago, so I'm very laid back here. I still swear while driving a lot.

I'm not surprised at all to see Portland on the bottom of the list.

Why the fuck does Seattle always get grouped in with Tacoma. That shit pisses me off.

I've only gotten fed up a few times living in LA, but I'm laid back and can usually take the traffic if I've got some good music. Sometimes you just want to kill everyone though.

Bammer is skewing the otherwise well-mannered Seattle results.

With the exception of a few patches here and there, Interstate 95 from Boston to Washington, DC has the ability to give anyone road rage, no matter how laid back they are.

I just love driving back into Connecticut and being welcomed by signs that say 30 mile delay. We even have traffic here on Sundays.

driving on any main highway in the NY area (or like someone else said anywhere from boston to DC) will make anyone crazy

traffic on the belt parkway at 2 in the morning is always one of my favorites

I think the reason there's so many large cemeteries lining it is people's entire lives have passed on that road, funerals held, and children take over driving without worry about needing to move their car.

People living in LA don't have to drive in snow or rain very much, so the east coast has the edge there.

I used to work for a company delivering electric supplies in Houston. The truck was big, old, hard to maneuver and it had no AC.

...sweat would drip down my back during the summers...fucking misery.

Perfect conditions for murder.

They also have much better public transportation systems.
