John Travolta has defended his fellow Scientologist Tom Cruise's 2005 rant against the use of anti-depressants, but admits he would have expressed his opinion a little differently. The Hairspray star agrees with Cruise's controversial stance on psychiatric medication. He tells the July issue of American magazine W, "I don't disagree with anything Tom says. How would I have presented it? Maybe differently than how he did, but it doesn't matter. I still think that if you analyze most of the school shootings, it is not gun control. It is (psychotropic) drugs at the bottom of it. I don't want to create controversy; I just have an opinion on things, and there is nothing wrong with stating your opinion if you are asked. Everyone wants that right, and because you are famous doesn't mean you have less of a right." Cruise angered many in 2005, when he publicly criticized actress Brooke Shields for taking medication to cope with postpartum depression. He also called psychiatry "a Nazi science."

I read an article and interview about him recently where it said he and his family sleep really odd hours of the day and stay up through the night. And when talking about his kids, he really talked up his daughter who wants to be an actress but said very little about his son who's more into sports, even changing the subject back to his daughter again.

He came off as very strange.
