My friend got this at a fourth of July parade. It's currently hanging up on my refrigerator:
Here's the Million Dollar Question... Are you good enough to go to heaven? Let's see if you are a good person... Have you ever told a lie? (White lies, fibs, and exaggerations are all considered lies to God). If you have, then you are a liar. Have you ever stolen anything? The value doesn't matterial... Have you taken a piece of gum? A paper clip? Your boss's time? If you have, then you are a thief. Have you ever murdered anybody? The Bible says "Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer" (1 John 3:15). Have you ever hated anybody? If so, then God sees you as a murderer. On the Day of Judgment, will you be innocent or guilty? If you are reasonable, you will see that you will be guilty, and therefore end up in hell. The good news is that's not God's will. Picture yourself in a courtroom, guilty of many serious crimes. The fine is $500,000 or life in prison. You don't have any money with which to pay your fine. The guards begin to lead you off to jail... All of a sudden, someone you don't even know steps in and pays your fine for you. You are free to go. How would that make you feel? That's what Jesus Christ did for you 2,000 years ago. He paid the penalty for your sins by dying on the cross. He defeated death by rising from the dead three days later. The Bible expresses it like this: "God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). God promises eternal life to those who confess and forsake their sins and place their faith in Jesus Christ alone to save them. Confess your sins to God (name them) and forsake them once and for all. Then place your faith in Jesus. Don't put it off until tomorrow... You may not have tomorrow. Read your Bible and obey what you read. God will never let you down. I think it is ironic that Reagan is on this Christian advertisment even though he and his wife were big into astrology. From what I know, Christians view astrology as witchcraft.

You are correct, sir.
That is ironic.

y'know, I like to think that Jesus was a cool enough and humble enough guy that he wouldn't really want people thousands of years later making such a big deal out of his actions.
Its kind of like if you were to bail a friend out of jail and then spend the rest of your life bringing it up & holding it over their head everytime you needed that friend to help you out with something. "Hey man, I need to get my house painted this weekend. What, you can't help me out with it? What about that time 10 yrs ago when I bailed you out of jail; guess that didn't really mean that much to you huh?"
When I do someone a favor I do it because I want to help them out, not because I expect anything in return. I think Jesus was probably cool like that too.
(The above statement is partially tongue in check, and not given a lot of deep thought. So don't over think it.)

Yeah, but when your favor to your buddy is saving his immortal soul from eternal damnation by sacrificing your body to unimaginable scourge, pain, and death, you'd want a few mad props here and there.

This is why I try to never ask favors of people.

Oh absolutely! But come on its been 2000 + yrs! How long do we have to keep applauding this guy for one day's work?
And he rose from the dead 3 days later!
(Again, tongue in cheek. Don't get your panties in a bunch Christians.)
