Feds will perform "accounting manipulations" to stay under the cap until congress can raise the debt ceiling(which of course inevitably they will).

It does beg the question: How does the richest nation on earth get 7.4 trillion dollars in debt?

Also: Just who exactly do we owe 7.4 trillion dollars to?

...the answers are fatal.

Funny how, if I'm in debt a few thousands of dollars and I can't pay, I get the IRS hunting me down, taking my property and cutting up my credit cards. If my government is trillions of dollars in debt and can't/won't pay, they basically just raise the credit limit on their credit card.

Ahhhhhh yes, nobody cares. The federal government is so mind-numbingly incompetent it actually owes 7.4 trillion dollars, a figure so large it is truly incomprehendible. Who's responsible for it? You and I, kids, because you see, the federal government actually has no money, it spends the money it takes from us.

It's our debt, ain't it great?

I guess when you live in the supposed richest nation in the world, you don't even start to understand how poor you really and truly are. You can only live on credit and loans for so long. No wonder they stopped the debt clock in NYC. It was starting to get a little stupid to say the least.

"Look how rich we are, but look at the debt we are racking up."
