oh my god this is a complete love fest i think there is a 75% chance they make out before the debate is up...
hillary's idea of 5 year freeze on interest rates is politics at its worst...absurd. obama has my vote. they can stop debating.
Yeah. She is great at focus grouped promises but really, unless the Democrats gained a super-majority in the Senate (which is highly doubtful), how the hell would she expect to get that passed. Not to mention that it is wrong for the government to even play that role, but I won't go there.
I think Obama makes the better argument for a candidate is because many of his proposals are moderate. Clinton and her supporters take issue with him for not being "bold" enough or "naive." However, I would say that Obama realizes that health care reform that includes a mandate will never be accepted by the Republicans. If he is going to be a uniter then his proposals will have to have smooth edges that won't make the Republicans recoil at the sound of them. Clinton talks about "fighting" for the health care plan she has proposed, and that's fine. But at the end of the day it will remain stalled in the Congress much like the immigration reform bill from 2006.
That aside, it's interesting to watch them discuss how they would run against John McCain. I think that the biggest problem for McCain is keeping the Conservatives on board, and one of the big keys to that would be 8 more years of Clinton staring those Conservatives in the face, whereas Obama wouldn't be that candidate who would drive the Conservatives to the polls in droves to vote against him (spare the dimwit racists).
I'm glad they are discussing the issues - watching Mitt Romney and McCain spend 20 minutes discussing what Romney meant by mentioning "time line" in an interview was just so awful.

Mitt Romney not getting a good ROIC on his campaign is the funniest line of the night...
Agreed, that was funny as hell.
I hate Hillary, but I did like her comment that the US isn't a business...Romney is a fucking joke.
Romney, Rudy, and Huckabee are all equally as bad for all different reasons...I can live with Mccain in office but he is the only GOP candidate that wouldn't make me puke on inaguaration day...or as I like to call it...Bush leaves day, let's party like its 1999 (literally).

Rudy's out. Huckabee pretty much is as well. It's between McCain and Romney. I hope Romney gets the ticket...it will be better for the Dems.

I can't figure out if Romney is better for Dems or not. Romney, before his flip flopping bullshit, was liberal! You are probably right...he loses big time to either clinton or obama...mccain is a tougher competitor.

Yeah, I don't know if its a bit of botox or just a lot of pancake make-up.
I always got a laugh when Clinton would refer to John Edwards in prior debates as a "young man." He's what...5 years younger than she is. I know she was establishing herself as the experience candidate by saying that, but I bet she wishes she aged as well as he has. Hell, I hope I look that youthful when I'm his age, but it's not going well already.

Romney would be easy pickings as an opponent for the Democrats.
I've lived through the Romney years here in Massachusetts, and to this day I don't know how people didn't see through his used car salesman shit. He basically won based on his business experience and promise to return the state to firm fiscal ground (he did, I must admit). But the guy is exactly as John McCain says he is, which is an opportunist who has changed his core beliefs with the political calendar. Romney tried to out-flank Ted Kennedy on the left when he was running against him. Now he is Ronald Reagan's lost child. He has run far, far to the right to try to win over the Conservative base, and would get crushed in a general election.
If McCain wins, in 4 years Romney will slither back out from under his rock with his wad of cash and run as a Democrat. During the primaries he'll criticize Dennis Kucinich for being too far to the Right. That's Mitt Romney.
