Recently (Yes, I'm aware it's about oh say . . . 5 years late), he's discovered all the You Tube conspiracy theory documentaries on 9-11. He keeps trying to get my mom to watch them, and she's not interested. This is leading to big fights because Jason (my bro), really thinks he's on to something here.

I never got so much into that crap, I watched them, but as I have more than 5 or 6 IQ points I was able to take them with a grain of salt. It was also so long ago, I've forgotten what most of them focused on. What I need from you all who have looked further into these issues, is what's the best FACTUAL thing I can say to shut him the fuck up already?

Frontline on PBS has had a number of very interesting shows dealing with the destruction of the World Trade Center- including one where they had the architects of the building talking in detail about how the collapse of the buildings was most likely to have occurred in the manner it did (straight down, very similar to a professional demolition, rather than things like tipping over etc)- they went into great detail about how the towers were built, what an impact by planes like the ones that hit would have- really I thought it was terribly thorough, and well worth watching - I know PBS still sells the DVDs/VHS tapes of past shows- it might be worth your efforts to look on their website to purchase one and give it to him to watch for Christmas or something.
Honestly I don't think there's a more objective documentary show out there than Frontline, and I'm always impressed with the lengths they go to in order to verify information.

There was a several hundred page document I linked to in the 9/11 thread that clearly refutes every claim made in loose change and other such mindless crap. Print that out and everytime he says something crazy you can instantly refute it with sources beyond 'unnamed witness who saw teh jewzsz filming in jersey'

as retarded as I feel to admit it, I'm seriously considering ordering a number of these as a Christmas gift for myself. - There's one they did on the one year anniversary of the event titled "Faith and Doubt at Ground Zero" dealing with how people handled the emotional fall out of the attacks, and the the kind of crisis's of faith many people experienced as a result of the destruction of the WTC.
It was incredible, truly.
My favorite quote ever came from it- they talked to the former curator of fine arts at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC about religion and art in connection to the event, and he said while discussing it "Art is exactly NOT what religion is..." which may not make a whole lot of sense out of context, but it really voiced my feelings perfectly at that time.

My advice to you would be to forget about it.
Anyone willing and capable of assessing the events of that day, logically and evidentially, will determine that there was no government conspiracy.

I've seen Loose Change and read Popular Science's refute of it all. Something is still weird. No, I'm no conspiracy theorist and I won't blame Bush or Cheney or anyone else in this country for that matter. But some things seem odd, and we need to question the government and get the facts. All the government has to do is prove that what they've told us is the truth, and I doubt that after 6.5 years it's gonna be a threat to national security. That doesn't bother anyone?

The only two facts I'm certain of is that roughly 3,000 people died that day, and that our foreign policy (in regards to the middle east) over the last 6 years has been enabled by that specific event.
