i'm pretty sure there's already a thread about this, but couldn't locate it....anyway...

A sixth foot was found in the south coast of British Columbia Wednesday following the discovery of a fifth just two days ago.

A Campbell River resident walking on a beach on Tyee Spit found the foot around 10 a.m. PT and reported it to police, the RCMP said.

The woman contacted the manager of a local trailer park, Sandra Malone, who told CBC News that she called police before going down to the beach to see the foot herself.

It was a right foot in a size 10 running shoe, RCMP Const. Annie Linteau said in a new release Wednesday afternoon.

Malone said the foot was clearly visible inside the shoe.

"I got the chills right away — really grossed out," Malone told the CBC.

"It was definitely a foot in a shoe. You can see the bones sticking out the top part of the shoe a few inches. And it was clean cut, like straight across," said Malone.
Forensic pathologist will examine foot

"The object will ultimately be examined by a forensic pathologist in attempts to determine the source of the foot and if it is related to other feet recently found," Linteau said.

A left foot was discovered partially submerged in the water near Westham Island in Ladner on Monday.

A couple out for a walk in the 2800 block of Savage Road spotted a shoe floating in the water around 10:30 a.m. and called police.

Four right feet, each wearing a sock and sneaker, have been discovered in the province since August.

A woman's right foot was found on the uninhabited Kirkland Island in the Fraser River in May, just a few kilometres from Westham Island.

Three men's right feet washed up in the Gulf Islands between Vancouver and Vancouver Island. In August, feet were discovered on Gabriola and Jedediah islands and, in February, a foot was found on Valdes Island.

Just what I was thinking. Maybe season 3 gets just a little too real.

so it turns out the 6th one was a hoax....but still....

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columb ... human.html

Remains found in a shoe near Campbell River on Wednesday belong to an animal, the BC Coroners Service says, describing the incident as a "reprehensible" hoax.

The coroners service made the statement Thursday, only a day after a witness described seeing "a foot in a shoe" on a beach near the community on B.C.'s south coast. RCMP also said Wednesday that the find appeared to be a human right foot in a size 10 running shoe.

The grisly discovery sparked headlines across Canada and around the world because it was initially believed to be the sixth human foot that has washed in the region over the past year.

"The coroners service, a forensic pathologist and an anthropologist have all examined the shoe and remains, and determined a skeletonized animal paw was inserted into the shoe with a sock and packed with dried seaweed," the coroners service said in a statement released Thursday.

"It is the position of BCCS that this type of hoax is reprehensible and very disrespectful to the families of missing persons."

The coroners service also said "it fuels inappropriate speculation and creates undue anxiety for families and communities while wasting valuable investigative time and resources that could be spent on the main investigations."

Investigations into the genuine cases of human feet that have been found are ongoing, the coroners service said.

The latest — a left foot — was found Monday, partially submerged in the water near Westham Island in Ladner. Police haven't said whether it belonged to a man or a woman.

A woman's right foot was found in May on the uninhabited Kirkland Island in the Fraser River — only a few kilometres away from the site of the latest gruesome discovery.

Before that, three other right feet — all from men — had been found. In August 2007, two were discovered on Gabriola and Jedediah islands and, in February 2008, another foot was found on Valdes Island.

All five feet were in socks and shoes.
