In possibly the most exciting moments of American Democracy in action in 200 years, Congressman Dennis Kucinich introduced 35 Articles of Impeachment against President Bush in a nearly five-hour recitation into Congressional record on Monday night.
Congress has 72 hours to table it, send it to committee, pass it, or reject it.
WhereTF is this story in the Media?????

if kucinich wants congress to pass this, he should have his wife present it to congress. all the horny old men would go along with anything she'd say for sure
(sorry, i dont have anything constructive to say)

That "impeachment" is just plain stupid. Specially with the elections so close.

No, it cant be that our valuable tax dollars and important legislative time is being used for symbolic, political posturing.
Just wait until they announce Congressional hearings into the NBA game-fixing controversy.
Of all the stupid shit that has been "investigated" by congress in the past couple years related to sports, this one actually doesnt bother me all that much if they look into it. With steroids, and even the belicheck taping thing, it was, at worst "looking the other way" when rules were being broken the compromised the "integrity" of the sport. If the league actively was playing a role in determining the outcome of events that were supposed to be competition, then I think they should be investigated...
now having said that, if its just a puppet "investigation" for senators to get themselves on TV, and ultimately doesnt lead to any sort of charges (mitchell report....) then it is totally a waste of money.

It's really all it is. By the time this investigation is done, Bush will most likely be out of office anyways.
If this was serious, it would have happened, long, long ago. But the Dems didn't want to seem petty and were focusing on the '04, '06 elections. Weird they would do this now. I guess they must be feeling confident heading into these elections.

It is important to at least put Bush's crimes on the congressional record. That somebody looking back in time will notice that congress was not completely blind to what the president was doing.

The real political posturing is coming from Reid and Pelosi who wanted it "off the table." This President should have been sent to the gallows aeons ago. I fully admit, however, that this would predictably have little or no impact other than as a symbolic gesture. It's an election year and he's going to be gone, and I'm going to throw a big ass party.
Anyways, Kucinich is a hero. Put HIM on the Supreme Court.

This was my immediate reaction as well. Believe me, I can't stand the guy and think it's laughable that the Republicans felt more than justified impeaching Clinton for getting blown, but the thought of doing the same to Bush for us being led into an ill conceived war is just preposterous.
But yea I'm actually more angry at Kucinich because I'm thinking, where were the balls to do this YEARS ago?!?! It's like a bitter senior high schooler trying to expose a teacher for doing something horrible (that teacher is guilty) but only in the very last week of school.

I don't see Kucinich as a hero or noble here, more like a political opportunist grandstanding for his next election/presidential bid. And I'm a big fan of him too....

This was a tiny blurb i found on page 16 or so of the NY Times today
Articles of Impeachment to Panel
The House voted 251 to 166 to send articles of impeachment against Pres. Bush to the Judiciary Committee, which is not likely to hold hearings before the end of his term.
