we often talk about the wrong and the damage of religion, and I feel the need to focus on the positive. I think this video embodies all those qualities that are the good in religion.

Now I know what would happen if a lazy David Byrne started a spiritual ska band featuring Will Riker on harmony.

It's a point that a majority of Christians fail to recognize.

The churches are big on making sure children are taught to respect their elders. That's a good thing. With churches you can't throw the baby out with the bath water. But I gotta say, one thing I can't stand about evangelical churches is that the people there seem to want to pry into your personal life a bit too much.

I'll never forget the day my CD label (I did graphic design work for a church) was rejected because the underwear line of a man whose picture I used on the label was showing. I mean...seriously!?! I didn't even notice it, but the guy in charge of their Media dept. noticed it and sat me down to have a serious discussion about pornography.

He said that by using a photo of a woman's panty lines showing is not appropriate and could cause someone to have impure thoughts. I was like, "uh, that's a man on that label."

:haha:

I can't help but wonder if he was the one with impure thoughts over the label.

I'm not going to get into a long drawn out argument with you over it, C_b. But in my experience everything depends on the church, and in turn, it depends on the children.

Like I said, it depends.
If you're interested in what's right with the church, do some research on the Barmen Declaration.

i don't see something like the barmen declaration as describing what's right with the church, but what's right with mankind.

I don't worry about the whole thing nearly as half as much as you do.
