skimmers!
The Palin clan was "Slaying the goose that lays the golden egg."
Brilliant people apparently. Wooten might be a douchebag, but they would have additionally made him a deadbeat douchebag with their course of action. He may have paid substantially more than 55/45 throughout the marriage, if not 155/45 if Molly was a "new shoes" whore.
I guess I was completely wrong about Sarah Palin. She needs to go back to the PTA and learn a few more things before she tries to rule a country. Let alone rule, as Diddy says it, ........ALASKA?!

page 56:
Mr. Palin expressed concerns about Wooten having a beer while in his patrol car. HA! People who have had DUIs should save their speeches for those "don't be like me" speeches they give to high school students during a school assembly on drinking and driving.

Sarah Palin is a strict constructionist.

Pages 52 to 68 seem to be the facts behind the conclusions.
What's interesting is that the guy Palin fired for not firing the brother-in-law tried to help her out.....the one time she directly asked him about this Wooten guy, Monegan (the guy she fired) told her that he wanted to keep her at an arms' length from this and to let her husband Todd deal with it. Nevertheless, Todd used the Governor's Office (basically if it was coming from her husband, it was treated like it was from the Governor) to keep banging away at getting this guy fired.
The McCain campaign released a statement that the "abuse of power" charge is bogus because that has to do with monetary compensation, but that is debunked on page 65 as they give the definition of what constitutes abuse of power (personal gain being the issue).
The only thing Palin has to hang her hat on is the finding that she was within her rights to fire the guy. They say that her other reasons, they conclude, were used to cover up her real intention, which was the personal vendetta. The report also says that Palin's claim that the family was extremely scared of Wooten is not a substantial claim.
Here is the worst part for Palin, from Finding Number One:
...I find that Governor Palin abused her power...
[...]
"The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust."
So they found that Governor Palin "abused her power" and "violated" the "public trust." Yikes.
I'm not an attorney, but this sounds like she could face either censure or impeachment hearings based on these findings. The latter is highly unlikely, but just the possibility being floated around the media over the next couple of days is not good for the McCain campaign.
