so, will the president-elect obama haters support him no matter what, like they said we all needed to support president bush the same way?
If the reaction of his crowd to McCain graceful concession speech is any indication... no.

looks like this post has some of the bitter ninnies that made this country so awful for the last 8 years in the first place.
I can't believe these religious fanatics are waiting for christs resurrection all these years and when someone jokingly suggests obama is it, they doubt resurrection all together and call him the antichrist. These religious people need to put the good book down and start picking other books up and get a clue.
The fact that the GOP is trying to make socialism, something that is doing quite well for the populace of many european countries as something similar to fascist communism, is hilarious. it's not even worth debating.
Congratulations to this country that we've asked stupid to step aside.

I have never felt so proud as an american as I do today. I'm a 31 year old Irish white guy that sat in awe last night as Obama gave his speech. I was moved to tears. I believe in Obama. I believe he wants what is best for this broken country, and I believe he will change this country for the better. The world is looking at us different today, and I know I am looking at the world different too.

so how many times in the next four years do you think we'll hear "white supremicists arrested following attempted assassination plot" ? ive ALREADY heard from one person (not really a "friend", more like an acquaintance) that "i can't believe we have a nigger for a president. someone needs to pop a cap in his ass" its going to be a long four years for him. i hope he has enough secret service shadowing him at all times.
Will you still be doing the "holly-golly" if and when things are basically unchanged four years from now? Or will you be all worn out by then and forget who who the candidates even were in this election?

You underestimate the power of the internets to get people to bitch about things, no matter what the circumstances.

well, one thing seems certain, and that is this historic election will never be forgotten, change or no change.

We already forgot who the other one in the losing camp was actually.
Awesome sight in Chicago last night. It was nice to see so many people participate in our great democracy. I am VERY proud of the United States of America today. I congratulate President Elect Obama and a thank you for Senator McCain for a very graceful speech.
A lot of people died and bled for our freedom and civil rights and I have those people in my heart today.

I hate that this is even an issue, but how likely is it that we have to deal with a serious assassination attempt? I'm not talking about those lunatics who thought that they'd run Obama over with a car while shooting at him (you know, for all those times when he walks down the middle of an empty street) but like, real, actual, formulated plans, and is there any chance that this would be successful? And how awful would the backlash be? I mean, personally, as a uppermiddleclass white boy, I'd be sickened and furious, so I can't even imagine how the urban working class black population would react.

I don't think it's necessarily any more serious than in the past, Obama is quite popular right now so anybody making an attempt would be more inclined to just cause mass chaos than make some kind of racial or political statement.

Not to mention the fact that a lot of the racist groups in this country probably view an Obama presidency as a good thing, since they no longer have to say that jews and blacks secretely run the country.
