Initial reports saying everyone survived. That's amazing! Thank God (or don't if you're Atheist).

in this case, i think it would be more useful to thank the piloting staff and the emergency workers.

Those poor birds though.

My first thought when I saw the plane in the water was Lost. And how the Oceanic 6 said they made it out while the plane was filling with water before it went down. And then how in the bonus features of Season 4 they had that fake doc showing how when a plane hits water its like hitting concrete.

Interesting. I think this whole thing is part of the Lost ARM game.

I wish it were Palestinian birds and all died.

I wish that made sense.

nah, there's nothing they can do really...you hit anything a 100s miles/hour, it's going to do damage!

Well, put some pounds of flesh and bones inside a very complex engine. There would be something wrong if it didnt affect it.

I've seen jet engines being tested with 20 pound frozen turkeys being thrown into them and they still work fine afterwards. The problem here was there were a flock of birds not just one or two. Incredible they survived. That's my biggest fear right there. In a plane crash if you survive the impact, you've something like a 90% chance of getting out of the plane and surviving. Landing on water though? you have almost no chance at all. Like those guys in Africa who were doing a water landing in a 737 and inflated their life jackets *before* the plane landed, plane fills with water, they all drowned..

Really? I would have thought that landing was pretty dangerous too.
