AN employee got the shock of her life when she opened up an ATM at her service station. Inside, she found a mouse with a home valued at upwards of $380.
The little critter had chewed up 14 $20 bills - two of which were mushed up beyond repair - to build a nest inside the cash machine.
On current exchange rates, the nest would fetch $382 in Australia.
The shocked employee, named by the Associated Press as Millie Taylor, said she screamed and slammed shut the ATM when she saw her tiny tenant.
Staff at the servo said they were mystified as to how the mouse made it inside the machine in the first place.
But since its eviction, the ATM worked fine, the report said.
There was also a happy ending for the mouse. While it did have to find other, presumably less lucrative lodgings, it was at least allowed to run free when released outside the station.

The mouse is fighting inflation, quite noble act.
