I live in Orange County, CA which is a haven for wealthy conservatives/republicans, and I still see many cars donning the Bush/Cheney stickers on the back window. Now, I always hated seeing these stickers throughout Bush's entire presidency, but at this point in time, with all we know about the Bush administration and the position they put the US in with the war and the economic collapse, it is absolutely dumbfounding to me as to what these people are supporting at this point. There is no real debate from either party about the fact that the Bush/Cheney presidency was one of the worst in American history. So what exactly are these people thinking with keeping these stickers on their cars?

They're Orange Countians Ryan. What do you expect?
I'm an Orange Countian too though. It's one thing to be conservative or republican, and it's another thing to be so ignorant that you openly support the man who fucked over your country. I can't think of anything less patriotic than that, and that's what a lot of these people pride themselves on. I don't think laziness is the issue either. It seems more like complete arrogance than anything.

Laziness?
Yeah, I totally intended to take off my "Independents for Obama" sticker last November, but then I'd have to wash my car.

haha you haven't been around a real conservative.
by the way, in 2004, he was just as absurd as he is in 2009 (in my eyes). yet he was re-elected. moral of the story: there are a lot of idiots in this world.

These are very well-educated conservatives we're talking about in Orange County. It really isn't ignorance/laziness...

Ok, you just ruled out the only 2 reasons. What would reason #3 be? Aesthetics?
By the way, they don't think they are ignorant. Hate to break it to you.

I'm telling you..it's like some sort of arrogance. Since many of them are unaffected by the war, financial instability, economic decline, etc., they don't really care about it. Most of the reasons I hate Bush have nothing to do with issues that directly affect me, but for the enormous amount of suffering that others have endured for his poor, and often selfish, decisions. These people seem so self-involved that they are still at the point where they think of Bush as a guy they'd like to have a beer with. They lived comfortably through his presidency, even if the rest of the world did not.

Bumper stickers are dumb IMHO. The simply piss off the opposition. I believe people who have them on their car, either side, are people who like to just like to argue and want attention. In other words, they are people who want to piss people off.
