not enough tax revenue? they have the 8th largest economy in the world or something insane like that. They are fucked because their "utopian ideals" are failures. EPIC FAILURES. Unionization, tree-hugging wackos, and other backwards thinking liberal elitists don't understand small businesses and the American dream. They try to meddle with capitalism and look what happens. It's shameful. Almost as shameful as for someone to claim that the state's problem is that they don't have enough tax revenue...lol.
Just like anyting else...cut taxes, cut capital gains and watch unemployment start to dwindle. You need ot incentivize the small business owners and corporations to invest in infrastructure and start building their companies, in order to generate more money (some people call this greed), so that they can employ more people and they in turn can provide for their families.

California has a pretty standardised public university system. If it doesn't start with UC or CSU, its private. Of course, the intials USC could have something to do with the confusion.

Yeah, to the college football fan, USC probably sounds more public than Cal does.

this explains why it'd seem obvious to some and not others; since in Ohio, there's not a standardized system at all. off the top of my head, main public campuses, ou, osu, uc, bgsu, ksu, and more. i didn't know there were completely standardized systems like that.

In New York, they're all called SUNY followed by the campus location.

What the fuck do you expect? You vote in a bloke to run one of the largest economies in the world and his only qualification for the job was that you quite liked him in Kindergarten Cop, and you're all surprised when it all goes horribly wrong. Unbelievable.

Right... because none of this was a problem before Schwarzeneger came into office.

That's not fair. He was great in "Twins," as well.

We have two categories for the state schools in Massachusetts (three if you count the community colleges). They either go Umass (Campus Location) or (Campus Location) State College.

So... they passed high speed rail. Some polls suggest that a majority of voters are against it (primarily due to budgetary concerns, it never having any chance of paying back the investment, etc. etc.) Whats disconcerting to me is that any more than a tiny majority thought this was a good idea. I guess you can get anyhing pushed through if you just appeal to 'progress' or 'greatness', and hearken back to glory days that probably never existed.
It'll be fun to see more moderate democrats fight environmentalists for every mile of track.

years from now mexicans will take pride in saying their people built this amazing accomplishment of modern engineering, just like the irish & chinese do when discussing the transcontinental.
