The driver was a 47 years bank clerk dude, quite bizarre.

It seemed to be a case of a day of fury. There was this bike marching, the guy got impatience that the bikes didn't give him room and went nuts.

Pretty crazy. Not that they deserved it but you'd be hard pressed to find a bigger bunch of self-absorbed douchebags than the Critical Mass riders in Vancouver. They give all cyclists a bad name.

As soon as I saw and heard the dogs I immediately thought of this.

Hmm... I don't know about that last one. If I was surrounded by a raging mob I would probably floor it as well.

it looks like he turns into the crowd, where there is actually open lane for him / her to drive through at one point though.

Well I'm not petitioning to give the guy a nobel peace prize, just saying that if I were surrounded by a group of enraged protesters I would choose running over a bunch of them over sitting still and potentially have them break in and doing God knows what.

And I don't know man, those streets look pretty crowded anywhere. Maybe there was some pretty girl on the left side of the street he wanted to avoid, who knows?

i agree with you. id be scared shitless. but if you look from 27 seconds and forward, the cars veers to the right in an attempt to hit more people. or someone was yanking the wheel who knows.

Yeah it definitely looks that way. Crazy stuff.

This kinda reminds me of a zombie apocalypse.

For those of us not registered with YouTube, here's the original critical mass video on Vimeo: http://vimeo.com/20465490. At least I'm assuming it's the original since I can't see it.

Here's a quote from an article I found

Quote:
According to Sky News, the driver of the car, 47-year-old Richard Neis, has been apprehended by police and is claiming self-defense after being threatened by some of the cyclists.

I have a hard enough time trying to avoid flats when I'm riding, add fucksticks like that guy to the equation and it's a wonder I make it home in one piece.
