The history has shown that:
The one who wins the presidental election in USA, will probably see himself as the Emperor of the world... (Or something like that.)
And I'd like to see who's becoming my new "Emperor".
Before the war against Irak there was an election in UN that your President (our "Emperor") LOST. Did he care?
Democracy is a good thing as long as our "Emperor" benefits from it...
What I've seen from the debates I that our "Emperor" has made it clear that he stands above UN , and Kerry hasn't objected. In fact he agrees (even if he is a bit more diplomatic)
It seams like your President is dictating the world. In other words: That's dictatorship, isn't it?
As long as your president stands above UN the rest of the world should be allowed to participate in the election!
My point here is: Your president is a dictator. Not inside your borders, but he dictates the world...

(Closing my eyes, waiting for the hit)
The fact is that we (the US) is the so-called "world power". And our president is NOT a dictator. Our country is a dictator. Futhermore, why should "our" president HAVE to listen to the UN? What is the UN? A group of countries that do not have the guts...balls...ability to stand up to any threat in the world. If they did, terrorism would not even be a factor in the world today. Thankfully we do have a government that will stand up and take charge of protecting the free world and not one that will bow down to terrorist leaders.

You sound like a little child who has been told to share his toys. It's very sad that we have people like yourself that do not see the benefits of cooperation and what that can lead to. You call the UN powerless yet somehow blame them for not stopping terrorism. Perhaps you will grow up one day and understand that there's far more to this world than the United States and our desires. Just go sit in the corner while the rest of us adults figure out how to deal with children like yourself.

Is it wrong to "share my toys"? This is a basic principal of being a human. And do not label me to think that I do not see the benefits of cooperation. The sad fact is this....when do we draw the line of cooperation or abstinence of duty? Should we (the US) cooperated with the allies during WWII? Or should have just minded our own business? Should we have allowed Sodamn Insane to continue to persecute and rule with an iron fist over his own people, or set them free to allow them to govern themselves like we did? Or should we just all put up huge barriers around our respective countries and let the "evil-doers" in the world have complete rule to themselves?
To be complacent is extremely child-like in my opinion.....but that is just my opinion.

This is not exactly the answer I expected. You're right about one thing, I should have said country not president.
UN is not authoritarian, that means that UN just recomends or urges change. (I like that).
NATO has made it their task to make shure that the laws and recomandations made by UN is fulfiled. <-- I don't like this, especially because NATO is dominated by a "superpower" (USA).
For some reason you think it's a good thing that USA acts like a dictator, changing the world like they want. As long as we have this "dictator" the world is not free.
I really did not want to talk about terrorism, but hasn't it ocurred to you that terrorism happends for a resaon. The only way to fight terrorism is to eliminate the reason. Not create new ones. And by the way, terrorism is NOT something that is unique to the arab world.

Maybe I have got your opinion wrong but you seemed to be saying that the UN was a worthless organization and we should not be a part of it. I am all for cooperation and feel that anytime you have countries engaged in discussion it is better than having them engaged in a war. I go the distinct opinion that you felt we should just do whatever is best for America and not even bother consulting or working with other countries.
"evil-doers" is a dispicable term and should be beneath any president, it's sad he felt it necessary to speak in those biblical terms.
