If your parents burned through their money irresponsibly, would you feel obligated to support them?

Mine did spend an inordinate amount of money on diapers.

Probably. Luckily though, only one of them is still alive!

obviously depends on the means i had at my disposal and the responsibilities i had, but given the ability, yeah.

I completely would. My sister and I encourage my Dad (78) to spend more money on himself while he can. For our parents gave and taught us, it's the least we could do.

They wouldn't, but yes, I would support them to the best of my ability.

I have now been supporting my mom for longer than she supported me. That coupled with being a single mom to a kid with Cerebral Palsy has pretty much burned me out on life. I have 2 kids. One is 18, one is 63.

Well, I would because my mum's ace. My mum does (in my mind) waste quite a lot of money but, you know, she just wants to be happy. She's not young anymore, so why not.
