and this was just caucasion looting.

I'm pretty sure online piracy is mostly Asians looting. And Russians planting spyware. But go ahead and blame whitety to try and make your point.

Asians looting, and whitey taking advantage of free stuff. Fo sho.

For Anonymous and their ilk, its all about getting free stuff, hence their opposition to Megavideo getting shut down. There are valid reasons for being agaist SOPA and PIPA, but this is not one of them.

The caucasian looting thing was a joke, and probably more offensive to blacks than whites. And yea, most of the piracy probably takes place outside our borders, but plenty of "looting" takes place here.

Personally, I have to imagine that something has to be done about all the online theft of art and software, but not with this kind of power.

Totally agree. I will not claim innocence as I had copies of 'No F**king Messiah' and other such boots, but what we see now is totally out of control. And what Anonymous is doing will only turn people against them. Megaupload was a haven of copyright violations and the founders knew it and profited from it.

As commercial interests weren't involved, it seems like google and others weren't interested in making a fuss. Whats the point of trying to oppose the surveillance state? There's bipartisan agreement on it so it was always a done deal.
