While I completely agree with this, I hope you realize how sexist it is. In a world of equality, it shouldn't bother you any more that it's a girl being hit than a guy. The girl hitting the guy first should be just as or more upsetting.

I am in no way absolving the guy with the following opinion.
The more i think about this video (which I unfortunately have not been able to stop thinking about...), the more it is pretty obvious she baited him intentionally wanting to be hit. It's obvious the guy is an abusive dick head and has hit her plenty in the past. Although it's also clear the violence goes both ways. A fairly innocuous scene where he is helping the kid clean something up (and seems to be in fairly good spirits) and she comes in and says he has to leave? Then starts claiming items to inflame him further? And then she hits him after he kicks the TV? All with a camera mysteriously pointed at the TV? She wanted him to hit her at that moment.
Guy is still a tool though.
Do you think women who go out in short skirts are just asking to be raped?
Did I imply that?
The guy was entirely wrong to take the bait on this, but there is no question that was staged on her end.
If I leave my door unlocked, with $10,000 sitting on the table and I announce outside "THERE IS $10,000 SITTING ON MY KITCHEN TABLE. I'LL BE BACK IN AN HOUR. NO ALARM".
Should the person who steals the $10,000 be any less guilty or receive any less of a punishment than someone who breaks into the house after scoping it out for weeks, making sure I'm not home, and breaking in?
Seems like we're splitting hairs over "how guilty/wrong" he is. Hitting a woman with your closed fist (or at all) is wrong, period. Doesn't matter "how wrong" he is based on whether she baited him or not.

I disagree that there is "no question" about it. You don't know what's going on before the video starts, you don't know why the video is running in the first place or whether SHE's the one recording (he seems to be aware of it). That's a HUGE leap you're making, and an ugly one. To say there's "no question" it's staged is a bit much.

And even if it were, does that lessen the seriousness of his actions?
My feeling is it doesn't, so I can't really see the relevance of whether it was staged or not (which we can't know based on that video).
It doesn't lessen the seriousness of his actions one bit.
I fully believe she staged it and purposely enraged him at that moment...and i believe she did it so that she could catch him on video doing what he had done dozens of time previously.

He is in no way less guilty. Show me where I said that.

If she did deliberately bait him in order to catch it on tape, it implies heavily that he has previous and she wants totry catch it on tape in order to help her get away from him and her kids and fair play to her for doing so.
