The tone is right  . But 'oe' is our way of writing 'ooh'. The rest is just what it looks like. The Belgian one has a different 'g'. The more north, the harder the g is pronounced. 'Below the rivers' people have the soft g. This man here is very funny (for those who understand Dutch). He is not fond of groetjes, see this from 0:53 seconds. He is from below the rivers, by the way.

groetjes,
Mirella :)

Oh, and after my initial post a lot has happened. There has been a new cooperation of several parties (leaving several other big ones out) that have forced some measurements to at least make enough cuts (they say) to keep us within the 3% range that Europe requires. They are raising the high vat rate from 19 to 21%, raising pension age (it was 65) and some more things. So, for now some sort of optimism has taken the place of the initial chaos, and let's see what the elections in September will bring.

groetjes,
Mirella :)

So, we had those yesterday. It is funny, because basically two parties won big because half of the voters did not want the other party to win. Now, the one that 'fell' earlier is the biggest, so they get the first choice to form a coalition. For now, it's just waiting until a deal is made. One of my friends is in the 'other ' big party and she was pretty low on the list, but they got so many seats, she will be a member of parliament now :).

groetjes,
Mirella :)
