So, the 5 test battle for the Ashes commences on July 21st, after the ODI Natwest Challenge on the 7th, 10th and 12th July

Who do you think will win the Ashes?

This year I think it'll be a close call with the Aussies (unfortunatley) clinching it 3-2.

England have their strongest team for a long time and are in with a real good chance, but I feel the Aussies will just have the edge.

The victory in yesterdays Twenty20 game is nothing to go by (but boy was it satisfying to give the Aussies such a hammering :D ), the morale boost will be good but we mustn't let it get to our heads too much.

I shall be attending the 4th day of the 3rd test @ Old Trafford. I can't wait for it, sat with the 'Barmy Army' 8)

Your post makes a lot of sense. I expect Australia to win 4-1. Although England surprised me with their performance in the twenty20. The 1st test will be very important for the confidence of England. Australia is getting to be an old team especially our bowlers but they should have plenty of desire as most of the team will not be back in England again.

I couldn't believe it when bangladesh beat Australia

Pietersen's knock of 91 from 65 balls was outstanding, and as for Collingwood's catch from the bowling of Harmison    :worthy:

Kind of but not really. It's an old song by 10cc. The Skysports thing is a trainwreck compared to the original.

Twenty20 is the biggest waste of space... I wish they'd just play ODIs instead. And Bangladesh was a rubbish choice as a 3rd team... clearly the intention was to use them as whipping boys. But since the Aussies have decided to act like wankers, it might actually turn out to be a contest.

Anyone else think Hayden and McGrath look a bit heavier than normal?

That's more like it.
In my opinion McGrath has put on a lot of muscle since he started playing through weights and Hayden has always been massive, both very fit.

I agree Australia has started to act like wankers. Gillipsie is the biggest concern he looks medium pace and predicatable.

It's muscle is it? Oh good then. Looked like a bit of flab to me in his old age.

I'd bring Brett Lee back to add some zest to the bowling lineup. Probably drop Kasprowicz.

And why the hell doesn't Justin Langer play ODIs?

Brett Lee was injured he will be back. I would drop Gillespie before Kaspa and there are lots of other batsman like Langer who could justify a position. Eg. Michael Bevan who averages about 55 in one day games was our best batsman in Australian domestic cricket again, scoring hundred after hundred he was VERY unlucky to get dropped. I think they will make some changes if we keep losing. I am glad I cleared up the muscle / flab confusion :)
