so luis gonzalez needs a relay man for a throw from medium left field to second base? wow. i wonder if all three of LA's outfielders could combine to get the ball to home plate from the right centerfield corner of pac bell park.
the answer is NO
Russel Martin is on his way to being the best catcher in the NL.....this kid can flat out play. pvw, dont the braves have a great young catcher of their own? i gotta watch him play more
McCann is quite a bit better than Martin. He and Victor Martinez are the only guys close to Mauer, though I think McCann has the highest upside of all of them.

Jason Schmidt likely will NOT miss his next start, and Kemp is just a bruise, nothing more. thank god!!
whats the deal with Ethier....this is what pisses me off the most about Cletus....he basically gave up on Ethier after 3 games, but the piece of shit that is backup IF Ramon Martinez is batting .062 and is in no danger of not starting. jesus, we need a new manager

this fucker better get his shit straight.....fucking ex-giant
btw, Schmidt has a horrible record against the Padres. He always gets pummeled by them for some inexplicable reason. It sucked while he was on the Giants, and now that he's on the Dodgers, at least I can laugh about it.

he went for an MRI today because he cant throw past 86mph.....this may be the single worst FA signing next to Zito

signing Jason Schmidt was perfect. Many think he is a better pitcher than Zito, and LA got him for a lot less years and money.
If there is some legitimate problem with Schmidt, his signing will turn out worse. Zito's signing only sucks because of the ridicules price tag. But he doesnt have any injury and you know what you're getting. However, Schmidt has had reduced velocity over the last 3 years, so I wouldnt freak out just yet. I've seen him pitch a few Games with the Giants where he never got over 91 mph and pitched fine. But over the long run, it does make him a less effective pitcher. His best years with the Giants was when he was throwing an easy 97 mph. I think those days are probably gone.

Dodgers are winning games the way it was all layed out for them, a shitload of doubles and small ball....im really liking this. and Furcal and Pierre have yet to find their strokes. Id like to see one of them start hitting for some power though

From sweeping the hated ones to being swept by the hated ones.
It's been a freakishly weird season so far. I'm not sure I can even predict what's going to happen next. Before the season started, it looked like the Dodgers had the best team in the division. I think it will be a race between LA/SD/SF. The Rockies can never muster anything, so they are out be default, and while I like the DBacks young talent, they just dont have the pitching to compete. It looks like the division will be decided with the best pitching, since there really are no major offensive forces with the contenders. Injuries will almost certainly play a big part, as they always seem to do.
