me personally, I'm hoping for an extention of the CBA again.
I think something of that form is what is going to happen. I don't anticipate a lockout next week. I think they will agree to some preliminary deal that allows for business to proceed while they work on a firm CBA. Maybe I'm just dreaming...

Remember all the scuttlebutt about the Jets at #6 beating the Pats at #7 to Vernon Gholston, "forcing" the Pats to "settle" for Jerod Mayo? Yeah, the Pats get to laugh once again:
Vernon Gholston doesn’t trigger the easiest contract escalator ever Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 1, 2011, 9:23 AM EST
Teams often include “likely to be earned” incentives or likely to achieve escalators into a player’s contract.
Some of these benchmarks are almost impossible to miss. The player basically just has to show up, and the money should be his.
When deposed Jets defensive end Vernon Gholston restructured his contract last offseason, his agent included a $9 million escalator in the deal.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Gholston just had to record one sack or forced fumble or fumble recovery to reach the escalator. So if Gholston had one lucky bounce of the ball go his way, his salary in 2011 would have ballooned $9 million, forcing the Jets to cut him.
Gholston wound up achieving his status as an unrestricted free agent the old fashioned way. Guys that don’t record a sack or forced fumble in three seasons don’t tend to stick around.
According to two sources familiar with the negotiations, the league and the union have reached a basic compromise on a rookie wage scale that will replace the current rookie salary cap. The owners backed off the idea of requiring first-round picks to sign five-year deals, instead limiting the contracts to four years before a player could become a free agent. The agreement is also expected to include a stipulation limiting the amount of guaranteed money and signing bonus offered to draft picks.
In addition, the league agreed that all players drafted after the first round would be limited to three-year deals, but teams would be allowed to put restricted free agent tags after the three years. That’s essentially similar to the current process where players can be tagged as restricted free agents after a three-year deal, although the existing rule allows players drafted after the first round to sign four-year pacts.

Welp. We can kiss a few games good bye this year at least.
Oh well. Viva College Ball.
Union Decertifies, we'll be in court.... for a long time.
IN one corner. A hodge podge of owners, many of whom can't agree and there are only 32 of them.
IN the other corner, De Smith and crew... wow did the players pick the wrong man for the job.
I hope people stay away really. I hope that they have a hard time selling tickets for at least a year. I'd love to see these idiots completely kill the league for about 5 years so when they want to do this again.... owners/players....go curb stomp the idiot that brings up work stoppage.

I'm seriously thinking about not renewing my tickets for next year. I felt this way before today, but this just adds fuel to the fire. At least they didn't raise the prices on me.

oh you thought I meant literally? This entire thing is childish bickering at the height of league popularity.
