ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -- The Detroit Lions have sent rookie defensive tackle Nick Fairley to a specialist for evaluation of his injured left foot.

He's scheduled to see the specialist in Charlotte, N.C., on Wednesday.

The Lombardi Trophy winner for national champion Auburn left practice Monday. Fairley was on the field in a walking cast the following day after X-rays revealed no significant injury.

Coach Jim Schwartz said he expected to know more about Fairley's condition later Wednesday. The team selected him 13th in the draft to complement a line that features tackles Ndamukong Suh and Kyle Vanden Bosch.

Foot Surgery.
Is going to miss a "significant portion" of camp.
Continuing with the theme of Lions' misfortunes, I'm sure most of you know that their second round pick, Mikel LeShoure, is out for the year with a torn Achilles.

This is getting all the BSU fans here excited for two reasons. One is that the Lions' only healthy high draft pick rookie is Titus Young. The other is that it opens up an opportunity for their legendary Ian Johnson to grab some snaps.

They're snake bitten, pure and simple. God, I hate rooting for this team.

Someone should probably tell Boise that Titus Young has been in 3 practices. The last 2 of which were very limited as he too has had a leg injury for the last 10 days or so (believed to be a hamstring)

Mankins inked for 6 years with the Pats. Best move they've made this offseason.

For fantasy football purposes, what will NE's weakness be on defense? And if I don't plan on drafting a D til late, should I consider them.

Thanks.

No, he really shouldn't stop this. In my fantasy league I have the last pick (12) and one of those two picks I plan on taking Calvin Johnson over Larry Fitz because I want to believe the Lions will be decent year, in hopes that CJ will be a big reason why.

If you want the Lions to be good, then you need people to stop all this "sleeper," "improved," and god forbid "playoff" talk.

Who are you anticipating taking with your other pick?

Mike Vick or Aaron Rodgers. Preferably A-Rod. But considering the draft is in Wisconso, I just don't see that happening. Probably a RB.
