Yeah this just puts me more on the side of the players even if it does cost me more money.

There was a deal in freaking place that they signed off on....all of these "smart billionaires" signed off on it.

The idea by Mr. Ross that they aren't making enough money as a league is fucking bullshit. Costs are going up....translation... these assholes are going to actually have to finance their own FUCKING STADIUMS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh LORD.

The owners completely wrecked this thing at the height of popularity. Nice.

I completely detest the way they negotiate and I don't think much of De Smith.... but seriously, the argument is.... well, the players are doing too well.

For Ross to suggest that this is somehow an idea to keep prices at the same level is preposterous.

The owners are going to finance their new stadiums as best they can with public money still in whatever back alley way they can and then they are going to fucking charge PSL's every last one of them. This is NOT about costs... this is about power. Plain and simple.

I keep reading these comments on PFT as if the NFLPA are somehow simple employees.

These guys may not be intellectually brilliant as a whole, but they aren't fucking fry cooks.

The NFL is NOTHING. Absolutely NOTHING without the players. That's why they make what they make.... it's a partnership not a master/slave deal like they are making this out to be.

Doubt me? How many of you guys watched the XFL or the Arena League?

The XFL or the Arena League is probably the best thing I have ever watched in my entire life.

I hate both sides. Lower seat costs if you have this much money!

my sentiments exactly, unfortunately. I don't buy it happening until people stop coming.

This idea that they are going to take money away from players to "reduce costs to average fans is complete bullshit."

If they were worried about reducing fan costs PSL's would not exist.

new kickoff rule is lame. I hate touchbacks and love watching great returns. One of the most exciting plays is a return for a td and they want to take away the chances of that happening.

I'm still confused as to what, exactly, Kevin Kolb has done in his career to warrant the Eagles looking for a first round pick and then some. This just seems like AJ Feeley all over again.

he's the only qb to ever throw for 300+ yards in his first two starts. thats about it, most of this is based on potential.

didnt he sign a pretty big contract before last season also ? if so, then not only are they trying to get a team to give a first rounder plus, but that team will aslo have to pay quite a bit for a guy who hasnt done much.

i wouldnt be supprised if he turns out to be a great QB, but no one really knows right now because he hasnt had the chance to show much.

I don't know if it has been posted already, but I read an article earlier saying that five teams are being fined for violating a rule pertaining to communication with players. The Dolphins are one of these teams. Apparently Chad Henne publicly stated he had talked to the new QB coach and OC and that is not allowed. :shake:

*edit
Okay, so apparently the rule has always been there for a period of time following the regular season where there is to be no player/coach contact, but does that still not seem a little ridiculous?

i didnt know of that rule. last year Josh Freeman pretty much lived at the Bucs facility as soon as the 09 season ended, but i guess maybe there were no coaches there durring that time. my memory isnt great either though, so there may have been a little bit of time after the season before he started getting ready for the 10 season

Yeah, I had never heard of it either. Another article I read quoted Goodel as saying that the rule "has always been there", but they probably are just enforcing it now because of the lockout imo.
