Well whatever. 6:05 and it's still sunny outside. I'm going. No post that you make can stop me.
Reid, if I give you a short list of baseball-related things to look for - and subsequently report on - will you do it?
I sure will.
1.) How does Michael Bourn's strike-zone judgement look? 2.) Has Oswalt recaptured the feel for the 12-6 curve, or is it more of 2-8? What kind of late movement does he have on his fastball? 3.) What kind of range does Manzella possess at SS? Do his throws to first sail, or are they fairly level?

Reid, I'm actually surprised you don't like baseball. It's a sport where nuance and subtlety both really matter.

I really do like baseball. It's just that I've never played past little league and I don't ever watch Baseball Tonight (I don't have cable anyway), so the subtleties of the sport are like Greek to me. I can't tell a slider from a curveball and I'm okay with that. Sometimes I notice when the infield is moving around though, but I don't really know what it means. Maybe this can be the year that I learn. That's what message boards are all about.

You won't get any analysis of the subtleties from that show or channel.
If I ever visit Houston we'll have to take in an Astros game, washing machine.
Where does one begin, then? I'd love to take you up on the Astros game.
My favorite Astros site: http://www.spikesnstars.com/forums. They're a bunch of cranky old men at that site, but they know their baseball. And they know the ins-and-outs and why the infield "moves" as you say.
Also, watch an inning or two, or a game, and jot down one or two questions. I'll gladly try to answer them.

I'll jot some questions down. Believe it or not, I do keep score every game.

I actually don't have tickets yet but last time I checked they weren't sold out. I'm buying nosebleeds at the door. I probably will take you up on this.

This didn't happen. My friend showed up at my apartment at 5:45 and by the time we found parking, the only seats available were $39. We planned on spending $7 for nosebleeds, so we went across the street and watched the horrible mess of a game at one of the bars. I seriously would have come to say hey, Charlie.
