the umpiring has been outrageously one sided in this series, which is odd considering the Red Sox have to be the most hated team by umpires league wide with their like 7 guys that are complete dick heads about umpiring calls.

It's one thing when players complain about obvious bad calls, it's another when a player seems to think he's right all the time, and the only player I can think of on the Sox who does that ALL the time is Youkilis. It's like he thinks because he's got a good eye every called strike must be the wrong call, and he lets the ump know it every time. I find the Yankees are much worse.

Ortiz, love him as I do, is ridiculous with the umpires, and that's why they always call that outside strike he hates so much. Lester in the past season has become worse than Youkilis, every time a ball is called he is putting on some kind of scene. Beckett, while not as bad as Lester, is pretty bad. Doubront has been bad with them at times as well.

I guess I was thinking more of just the batters, but that makes sense.

what really grinds my gears is Jeter's stupid lean forward on any outside pitch gets him calls so often... b/c "if he didn't like it then it must be a ball."

Like Glavine's outside strike in the 90s, if thats where he wanted it to go it must be a strike.
i don't mind him leaving since we've seen that middlebrooks is ready. now i'm curious what they could truly get for him? something useful? something to develop? or just something to get his money off the books and seek out somebody else to purchase?

In a seller's market I could see them maybe being able to work a 3 team trade where say the Giants or someone that could use Youkilis send 2 prospects to another team and we get maybe a starting pitcher that is also a free agent back from that team.

Youk looks like an old lumberjack with that hideous facial hair. Speaking of which....hair on the face never, ever makes a man look better...the only dudes who pull this off well are Tom Selleck, Burt Reynolds and that guy in the beer commercial.
