In a seller's market I could see them maybe being able to work a 3 team trade where say the Giants or someone that could use Youkilis send 2 prospects to another team and we get maybe a starting pitcher that is also a free agent back from that team.

Is he old enough to play on the Giants yet?
by next year? definitely

Youk looks like an old lumberjack with that hideous facial hair. Speaking of which....hair on the face never, ever makes a man look better...the only dudes who pull this off well are Tom Selleck, Burt Reynolds and that guy in the beer commercial.
um, i'm thinking of starting my stache now so its in top form for Mo-vember.

I'm a fan of raising money for charity, but there's something about that mo vember that is creepy.
is it the mustaches?

Yeah, and guys getting so stoked about growing a mustache and posting it all over the social media web. My Facebook page looks like a bad 70s movie. It's like more about "look at me" rather than the charitable component. But I guess tapping into a dude's ego and leveraging that to make money is a solid plan.

I don't blame Youkilis for his reaction to getting hit, but it was pretty obvious Hutchison didn't do it on purpose. Also, how the hell does the umpire let Shoppach get away with the HBP on that one?

Shoppach reminds me of Don Baylor....one of his skills is getting hit by a pitch. Sometimes, it's illegal, sometimes it's not, but most times it's a-ok. I'd need to see another replay and re-read the rules on that latest one.

Youk was fine with being hit...I think that he just preferred that it happen in the thigh, not the head. The pitcher is a rookie, right? He'll learn the art of hitting a player in the right spot (if that's what his intentions were).

Yeah that's what I mean about Youkilis. His argument was fine (he should have hit him in the hip instead of the head) but I don't think there was any intention on Hutchison's part to hit him.

I think the rule is that players have to make a reasonable effort to avoid getting hit. Shoppach started to turn his back, realized the pitch was breaking away from him, and shoved his elbow out so it would hit him. It was pretty obviously intentional.

I just think it's funny that whenever it's called for that a Red Sox batter be hit, the other team always waits for Youkilis, and most of the time, they throw at his head. Youk must be the biggest tool.

I don't know if you were watching the game or not, but it's easy to see how opposing fans feel about him: his last at bat (I think in the 8th inning against Cordero) a pitch game up and in and the crowd went nuts.

Yeah, I saw that. Like I've said before, I've always hated Youkilis, it's just he was good so it was hard to be vocal about it.

Makes sense. He just has a face you want to punch.

He looks like Homer Simpson. I loved it when Manny slapped that fool around.
