Norv Turner's time in SD has expired. I wanted to believe he was the right coach for this team, but I was obviously misguided. Rex Ryan was right, he or any other coach with half a brain should've won a title or two with the talent the Chargers have had the last 5 years or so. Go ahead and throw your red flag again Norv, but like usual the call on the field will stand, "You suck and adios."

This is less Turner's fault than it is AJ Smith's. Norv Turner is a fantastic offensive coordinator. He's never been a good head coach. 75% of the blame for this lies with Smith.

three actually, and i'd expect changes in Los Anaheim of Anaheim too.
Is it common for NHL teams to fire their coaches so early, and if so, why?
i don't know about common, but these latest two coaches in particular have been with these teams a few years now and had clearly lost their respective locker rooms.

Well, the Caps have had Alex Ovetchkin for years and haven't done anything in the playoffs despite lots of regular season success.
Carolina is in dead last behind the 1 step above expansion Jets who have been moved from a disasterous stint as an expansion team with no success in Atlanta.
Bottom line, the performance is woefully unacceptable in both situations.
Coaches love to quote stats and records when they aren't getting the job done.

Ever since the Broncos let him go, their d-coordinator job was like the Defense Against the Dark Arts position at Hogwarts--a new hire every single year. Thankfully, Dennis Allen should end that horrible streak.

Manning accepting lower pay in order to make his team better, but that team instead using that money to draft his replacement: is that considered irony?
