I missed most of the game, being at work and all. Had to leave my office when the score was 21-7 Bills. Didn't expect to see that for a final. Did the running game look as good as the #s suggest? I would imagine it would have to.

It looked better than the numbers suggested. The numbers weren't buoyed by two or three thirty/forty yard runs. The line was opening huge holes all day, and I would say at least two-thirds of the attempts went for between seven and fifteen yards. Remarkably consistent.

Brandon Spikes is the biggest playmaker on defense at this point.
I like Spikes. Had a hell of a game in the SB.
About to watch today's game now. From the stat line, I saw McCourty was able to hold onto a couple of balls. I still like him too, even after last year.
Why did CBS keep showing Wilfork's wife? For the shock value that he's married to Fred Flintstone or something?

How is the secondary this bad? Belichik's spent the last, what, five years rebuilding the defensive backfield? And it's still abysmal? I really don't get it.

Belichick's failure to build a capable secondary is remarkable. Poor drafts and signing unsigned free agents off the street just won't cut it, Bill. You also can't coach up the bad talent you've signed.
At this point, in the rebuilding process, the secondary should be much better than this.

this team reminds me more of the 2010 squad than the unit we watched/rooted for last year. maybe mccourty/wilson at safety and dennard/arrington/dowling/moore at cb will solve some problems. I'm continually confused why the Pats don't play press and i'm still not sure how the seahawks can get away with the amount of contact that they do and the Pats CBs get flagged so frequently. not whining, just find it frustratingly inconsistent.

Moral defeat.
Although, I was glad Gostowski made those two pressure kicks. Also, the offense drove for the tying kick when they could've just folded and blamed McCourty. Some intestinal fortitude? Maybe.
Come February as you jerks celebrate another title you're all gonna look back to week 7 and laugh.
