For Napoleon Harris and a first-rounder in the April draft. Not a bad deal for the Vikings. I'm a firm believer that the Vikings will be a better team without Moss, even if they got nothing in return. Getting Harris and a first round pick is a great deal for them.
As a Packers fan, this is not a good thing.

As a Vikings fan, I think that it is time for Moss to go. I like him and think that he is a great player, but it's time to move on.
I just hope that if they do trade him, the Vikes get someone decent. And I'm sure they will.

I'm a Raiders fan, and I'm not too happy about the deal. For one, I really like Napoleon Harris. Plus, I would have rather kept the 1st round pick and get the best defensive player available.
Why sign Jerry Porter and then trade for Moss? Porter showed he could be a solid No. 1 receiver last season and Ronald Curry is an excellent no. 2 receiver. I thought they needed a no. 3 receiver and a starting RB.
Moss' on and off the field aren't that much of a concern, and he is the 2nd best receiver in the NFL, but I don't think this was a smart move. I hope I'm wrong.

This is the best news I've heard here in the the Twin Cities in a long time. His antics are tired. The Vikes be a better team without him, regardless of who they get in return. He's not great. I know this, because despite all of his numbers, I don't know one Packer's fan that would want him on their team. Conversely, most of us in Minnesota are dreading Favre's retirement almost as much as Packer fans, because he's a damn warrior who plays the game like a man.
Prediction: The city of Oakland will contract a venereal disease in the preseason.
Prediction 2: While once again watching other teams play in the first round of the playoffs, the city will realize it has been thoroughly fucked.

Just two days ago, trading Moss to the Raiders for a player and their 1st made sense.
But now, this doesn't make sense to me at all. Main reason--they just re-signed Jerry Porter. Do they think Porter's not good enough to be a #1 WR? I wonder if Porter even knew that this would go down while in negotiations.
Also, why Napoleon Harris? Their run defense wasn't exactly stellar last year. Phil Buchanon, as speculated earlier, would make more sense, since they franchised Woodson.
Oh well. At least they won't get another Robert Gallery-caliber rookie this year.
The NFL's tallest CB also needs to get ready--he'll be needed.

yeah, i don't get the Porter signing if they are gonna get Moss. Are they just gonna have those 2 guys run GO patterns every play? Seems stupid to me. The Raiders are gonna be stuck in that situation or get rid of Porter for less than he's worth
wow, can the AFC be any more stacked? Oh wait, Kerry Collins is throwing to him
no shit. this is my favorite quote from FoxSports.com:
Quote:
DiTrapano said Moss was "very pleased to be going to Oakland and looking forward to playing with a team that's promised they're going to throw the ball deep a whole lot to him and having a chance at winning the Super Bowl."
does he realize he's going to the Raiders?
but i do think the Viking offense is fucking terrible w/out him. they just run this New England patriots throw-the-ball-underneath-all-day shit.
and i doubt that the LB will make up for it, even though our defense is terrible.
either way, the vikings will win about 5 games next year.

That's the funniest shit I've heard all week.

Who knows, with the 7th overall pick, they could get someone like Mike Williams and still be fine.

Uh.. for all you uninformed people. Collins is a backup QB.
And if history holds true then Moss will have a great career in Oakland. The Raiders are known for taking the unwanted and turning them around.
Porter and Moss....possibly gonna be the best duo in football.

Oakland may turn unwanted players around...
But recivers changing teams is often times a bad move for whatever team gets the reciever. MeShawn. Galloway. Alvin Harper. Peerless Price. etc (owens is the obvious exception).
