Bottomline, their offense does not run without Raymond Felton... if you saw the Santa Barbara game like I did, you would have seen that McCants can score, but he's not a born leader and he can't run the floor as well as Felton... Ray-ray is just a born leader, and while he doesn't score as much, he has all the intangibles

agreed.
first of all... they lost to Santa Clara (not Barbara)... and as far as i know the game wasn't televised... but maybe you saw it somewhere, maybe you were there... but it really doesnt matter because felton is a point guard, and it is in his job title to be a leader and make the offense run... that's what point guards do... mccants is a fierce scorer who scores at will... he has stepped up his defense this year and may turn out to be one of the best defenders in the game... he has passed up a ton of shots this year and made some great passes... he is turning into the complete player... felton can run the floor, no doubt, but he isn't nearly as good as mccants... anyone can see that... raymond is one of the top 3 point guards in nation, but rashad's one of the top 3 players in the country
like i said, wait until conference play starts and his 25-foot bombs fall in the clutch

Sorry about that... but yeah, I was there, and they were lost without Felton... And today, it doesn't matter if you're a PG or not to run offenses... coaches put burdens on SG's all the time to run offenses, and you don't give the player of the year award for scoring alone... Felton is the team leader in assists (by 5 per game), steals and he doesn't committ nearly any fouls as compared to his play last year...
And McCants numbers are particularly misleading because he takes so many shots... Roy Williams realizes his team is all offense, and McCants is one of the better pure shooters in the nation, so feed him the rock... he just doesn't do as much with it as Felton does...

"Felton is the team leader in assists"... again, he is the pg, and it's his job to hand out assists
"scoring alone"... rashad is not JUST scoring this year... watch his D... he is up in peoples' faces and all over the place... he is rebounding more, and i think he PASSES UP too many shots this year, but that is just him buying into the team concept... mccants is letting everyone else have their glory here early while they're spanking teams by 30... when he needs to step up and take over a game, he will... and in SC he was the only one doing anything without felton in the lineup (listened to it on the radio)
again, i love ray... he is the glue that holds this team together in so many ways... but rashad is the complete gamer... season is early, but i'm loving what i'm seeing out of him this year... he has a new focus, and i dont think stlouis is too far away... hope hope

sometimes mccants has too much of a swagger for me
guess that's todays game
i hear you... he is trying to lose that though... read the article in the latest SI (college bball preview)... McCants is on the cover... he has some major trust issues that it looks like May is helping him with... it's a good read, fan or not
i wonder why Hakim wasnt on the cover?.... OH, i got it... because Rashad is the best player in the land
