I''ve got the yankee game on the radio. Does anyone know what happened to Charlie Steiner? Who is this Susan Walton calling games with John Sterling?

RUN, don't walk away from your radio.

Suzyn Waldman is brutal. Sterling isn't much better.

Sterling had Steiner taken out back and shot.........they didn't get along.

she's a decent "reporter" in that she's good at talking to the players and conveying information to viewers during the pre and post game show.....but she has no business calling games. Also, she has the classic "face for radio".

sterling and steiner sounded a little too much alike for me....and they are both incredibly full of themselves

I want to know what the deal is with the Phillies play-by-play... it seems like it rotates from inning to inning sometimes or something... the Harry Kalas and Wheels combo is one of the better ones in all of baseball broadcasting, but it seems like they're not commentating every inning

yes i've listened to Suzyn Waldman (yes thats how she spells her name) for years on WFAN now, and she is awful.. she's a yankee cheerleader who sounds like she has a crush on every player..

i've also always heard that she grew up in boston and was a huge red sox fan

lukin, what Depo did to Ross Porter was the scuzziest thing ever. Depodesta ia a lying backstabbing team-ruiner. in every facet of the organization, not just the players he's responsible for....

Eric Karros would have made a great dodger broadcaster, but the Dodgers offered him some ungodly low salary like 250,000k for the year....so he told Depo to go fuck himself! ha!

PC bullshit has entered yankee radio.

Evander finally caught up to Steiner.

PJ Guy, Don Sutton may be through in Atlanta in a year or so and might go do the Dodger broadcasts.

We have some of the best around in Atlanta.

Pete Van Weiran, Don Sutton, Skip and Chip Carey......

its even more pathetic on tv with YES. thats what happens when you own your own media outlet...not ONE time has the tv announcers on YES yankee games this year mentioned steriods when Giambi was discussed.

that's only one aspect of it.

On the other hand, YES does allows Chris Russon to spew anti-Yankee venow all day.....including rants against Giambi and Sheffield.

thats different, Russo works for WFAN, not YES. YES just carries the WFAN broadcast.

the yankee broadcasters work soley for Steinbrenner...who owns YES. and George most definately put the word out that any anti-yankee talk is strictly forgidden.....bob raissman's column in the NY Daily News is full of examples every day

For the purposes of this discussion, it's not that different. YES has censored them in the past - specifically during the Cablevision dispute two years ago. If they wanted to, they could censor them on this issue as well by not carrying the braodcast. YES (and by extension George) chooses not to in this case.

This is true in many cases....however Jim Kaat doesn't seem to follow this edict.

um....his column doesn't run every day. Try 3x a week.....tops.

I'm not saying its right (I happen to think its wrong), but you can't critize YES and George for not allowing steroids talk during broadcasts, but not mention that for 5 hours during the day, just about anything goes.
