Just like Stoneand yours truly Obi Once, leave the car for long distances! Put a PJ show on your MP3/disk/MD-man and get in shape! It is relaxing, good for your health and the environment, if you dont have a bike, dont worry people often dont put a lock on 'm... :)

from the interview:
How U.S. cities compare to cities abroad in terms of being activity-friendly:
“You go to Holland and everybody’s on a bike—nobody would think to have a car. Now that they’ve gone that way I don’t think they’d go back. You see people really enjoying themselves and it’s just part of it, nobody would think twice about riding 20 minutes home on their bike after being out or going to work. And there’re trails everywhere. Instead of roads they’re building more bike trails. How much cheaper is a bike trail than a road?â€

Prior to it snowing close to two feet here, I took my mountain bike everywhere. Now the Proletariat Chariot is my means of getting around, however, i can understand, somewhat anyway for wanting to drive if you live in a snowy climate.
My main reasons for doing so are exactly in tune with your reasons for starting this thread.
I love biking and really, if you live in the country then maybe you need a car but if you live in the city, especially central, a bike is just as fast as a car if not faster in some instances.

i used to bike to work all the time. right around the time Riot Act came out and then i got a bootleg of the Showbox night one in 2002 show. now everytime i listen to either of those, it reminds me of biking to work. since then i have moved and am a lot closer, so not as much of the albums get played, but it's still fun to do when the weather cooperates.
