I don't like that idea one bit. I think that it would lead to a more defensive style of game and I would not be too big on that.

Seriously, if they want to increase scoring, call some fucking holding/obstruction penalties.

I dont really like hockey because it hasnt been invinted in Indiana yet, but if they tried to change the size of the goal or backboard in the NBA, or changed the size of the field goal post in the NFL I would be wicked pissed. It fucks with all the history that goes along with the NHL.

Could that be why?
There is no such thing as hockey in Indiana. I dont get it, Indiana is right in the middle of great hockey and baseball teams, yet we dont give a damn about either sport. On our local news there are ZERO hockey highlights ever. Even if it is the NHL Finals, we still dont see highlights.

This is a bad idea. They look like nets in a funhouse mirror. I agree with Go_State. When there's a dump in and the defender wraps his arms around the forechecker who is trying to get to the puck, you may want to call a penalty on that.

How about shrinking goalie pad size down to original sizes before making a bigger net?
Yes, I agree with that. I think they talked about doing that, or maybe they actually did shrink down goalie pad sizes a little bit in recent years.
I third that. They really need to do something about scoring, but I dont think making the goal bigger solves that problem, because that will just bring about even BIGGER padding. I think they need to decrease the sizes of padding...that simple

Changing the net size will do nothing. The problem isn't even with scoring, it's that there aren't even any chances. A 6-4 score doesn't mean it's a good game if there are 10 garbage goals. Big nets do not equal excitement.
